Think it's about time I introduce myself. My name is Thomas but I normally just go by Geefixx or Geef. I'm 28 years old and from Denmark where I live together with my girlfriend close to Copenhagen. I'm working as an engineer but I just recently made it a part-time job so I can study a masters degree as well.

Earlier this year my interest in growing stuff started with what seemed a harmless and fun experiment: I took 40 seeds from a regular red chilli pebber bought in a common grocery store and put them in the ground in the belief that at most two or three would dare to put up their heads. While I was at it I also put some Red Savina and Burkina Yellow seeds in the ground. Some time later it turned out that it was the other way around with the regular red chillies, of the 40 seeds planted 38 came up the ground. Luckily only 6 of the Red Savina and none of the Burkina Yellows came up. That was a tad too many plants for a small east facing window...

Today however I live in a new apartment with a lot more window space and just as important, most of them are facing south. Now I've also been blessed with a garden so I'm looking forward to spring like a small kid is looking forward to Christmas! It's no longer just chillies that interest me but in general all plants that can supply me with anything edible. My current stock contains 6 Red Savina, 1 Scotch Bonnet, 2 of the regular chillies, some unknown chillies, 2 avocado plants, a handful date plants, about 10 lemon plants, about 5 orange plants and 3 oaks. I don't plan on eating the oaks but merely keep them cause it's my favourite tree.

As the engineer I am I take a very theoretical approach to all of my projects, meaning I first do a lot of reading up and then put the theory to the test. I also care a lot for ecology so you wont find any unnatural additives or any such in my window/garden. Finally I'm also very interested in the technical aspects of growing so as soon as I have the funds you'll be able to read about my various projects.
