Traditional growing / GHE Flora Series/GHE One Part
maaliskuu 31, 2010, 18:49:26 ip
Hi!
Last year I was using Chilli Focus and one polish fertilizer for peppers and tomatos.
This season I'd like to try something new.
I've read lot about it, and chosen few brands.
HESI, GHE and BioBizz.
But now, few technical difficults. BioBizz is very hard to get in Poland
and prices are from outer space (1,5-2x higher than in rest of Europe - SICK!)
So HESI and GHE left.
I've found many many positive opinions on GHE Flora Series and GHE One Part+Ripen,
I've figured that one of those sets would be good.
Look quite the same...

Does anyone use one of them in soil?

Show us your garden! / Pavlak's Chiles 2010
maaliskuu 11, 2010, 16:18:42 ip
Hi there, I've started my season later than most of you, but earlier than in 2009 thou :).
Unfortunately my hydroponics project won't start, maybe 2011 would be "THE HYDRO YEAR".
But I'm not here to cry, but write something and show some photos.
This season is much bigger. No almost-random seeds, only choosen ones.
Heat combined with great taste was a leading plan for my cultivars.

I'm going to do lot of crosses this year. I'd have much time for chile things,
and of course a private greenhouse from the begining, not since july (like it was last time).

Everything's started on 7th of March.
Seeds are in cells now, almost 200 of them.
I did some preplanting soaking in chamomile tea.

seeding soil with perlite

some time later

hand-made flags in every cell are the best :D (thx to my GF)

+bonus
last-year orange habanero is waiting to have roots cut, trimming and repoting

Any news SOON!

Hello!
New season is coming very fast, so after break it's time to turn from passive reader to active user.
I'm going to grow lot more varietes than I've do this year (only 7). I'm very intrested in hydroponics.
I've got place so why not to give a shot. I've read few articles and know that EBB & flood system would be nice for me and my plants.
But to start from the beginning. The place is the same:

Last time, I've used only one side, but now I've got bigger plans and ambitions.
I know my fiance would like only one side to grow in soil pots, so it's still plenty of room
left 4 my purposes.
I'd like to project a hydrosystem for at least 30 plants, maybe more but i don't know
the proper seeding distance between chiles. This rectangle in the middle
measures about 7x2m, maybe more.
Anybody has an amateur or semi-pro EBB & flood project to help me?
Would be nice if anyone help me create something, I've seen only on photos so far.

Something was going on raly bad with those chilis.
Nerves turned brown to black, leafs curled, and.........see yourself.

That aren't my plants, but someones' I know. He's gotta huge problem here.
Some symptoms indicates it like economy of phosphor turned wrong way, but maybe it's some virus?
Can You identify this?

That's how it starded

Show us your garden! / Pavlak's first steps 2009
huhtikuu 09, 2009, 12:30:43 ip
Hi!
It's my first year, and I'm trying to do my best.
Now I've got about 50 little plants here

- 17 Cyklon
- 8 Thai Chili Red Fire
- 8 Jalapeno Purple
- 9  Cayenne Golden
- 5 Habanero Orange
- 3 Hungarian Hot Wax

Now plants have 4-5 weeks, 1 week ago I've repoted them to 5x5x6 pots. And They're in soil.
When really warm sunne weather come in may, I'll repot to 2L( o13cm x 16cm) proper pots and put them on my balcony. I'm considering building a small greenhouse.

Now I've got some problems, I fertilized them 2 days ago, and I don't know when do the next. On the box it's said to fertilize once in 2 weeks, and every week when plants flowering.....but isn't it to seldom? Habaneros and Hot Wax are growing very slow according to the rest ???
And how about watering? Till now I watered them about 3 times a week, and every morning I've sprinkled leafs. Is that ok? First 1-1,5cm of soil is dry, but I've checked deeper and there's some moisture, but not too much.

Hi!
It's mu first season with chilies, but maybe I will write something in other topic.
In Poland, and mostly in this climate, often problem is Greenhouse Whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum).
I haven't got it yet( AND I HOPE IT NEVER COMES), but anyone of You guys, had to do with it?
Is Neem-Oil capable to kill tese bugs?
I know it has got few natural enemies and parasites, but they're hard to get and not always good.
Does anybody fight with it?
