I'm waiting for my vacation in Tuscany in the middle of August. I heard that amarone-bottles are there freaking cheap!

Sounds great, but cheap Amarone sounds strange:
What is it that makes this wine so special? Several factors come into play. In addition to the climate, the grapes and manufacture. The local varieties Rondinella, Corvina and Molinara all have their specific character.

The manufacturing process, "apassimento", is unique. It yields, as usual in the autumn, but then let the grapes be and dry in about 100 days. It become raisin-like grapes with a high concentration. Then crushed, fermented and may subsequently be in wooden barrels for about four years. Finally dropped the wine bottle and may be further any year. But anyone who thinks that the wine is therefore ready think wrong. Many Amarone wines are stored in 10-15 years.
For the wind is the grapes to dry, and it is easy to understand that amarone cost a penny, it is an archaic and costly process.
You can expect to pay 25€+ for a true bottle
But its music  ;D
