Hey!

I got some more seeds to sprout now! Thank you all for the great tips.  Some of the new seedlings sprouted in Rockwool cubes.  Now I got some more questions...

Do I have to transplant them to soil as soon as they sprout? Or should I wait a bit longer? (they opened their seed-leaves today)

Another question is, how do I transplant them from the cubes? Should I just pull them off the cubes? I'm afraid to tear them apart if I do so...

Cheers,
Luca.

Thanks for your quick answer!

I've removed the excess of rockwool and planted the seedling with only a small patch of rockwool and it seems to be growing happily in a pot now :-)

My seeds in rockwool cubes just sprouted now, I plan to let them make good roots and than give them in ebb&flood system. But I have a question about watering the cubes. How much is the right amount? Or can I have some extra water in the box where the cubes are?

thanks

Fatalii

Hmm.. some extra water isn't that bad, but I think I wouldn't soak the small seedlings all the time without any circulation of the water.

I usually keep some extra water in the box when germinating to spread the temperature around the germinating box.

Hope it helps!

well, and should I keep the cubes wet all the time, or get them dry and than watered again..

thanks

Fatalii

Don't let them dry!! Small seedlings will die quite easily!

Rockwools are great ´cos they maintain the moisture for suprisingly long period of time.
