Hello there :)
My name is Boris, I'm from Russia. I am glad to be here.
About a year ago I've received an "unknown" seed package from a friend. She never knew where it was from :)
Well. One of five seeds germinated :) It became a pretty tree with tiny leaves, white flowers and orange-red little hot berries. They have a fruitty flavor and "explosive" heat... By the way, I like this variety so much that rooted a cutting, which is going to became a bonchi.

So, little questions.
1. Am I right it is kind of Pequin? Or maybe something else?
2. Are there any varieties looking similar?
3. Does anyone want to get some seeds from it? ;) It is self-pollinated using a huge fan (wind is very helpful to shake plants well to make them self-pollinate)
There's no any problem to send five or more seeds in an envelope over the world. Five or so berries are going to bear became orange, so seeds will be ready soon.

PS More photos are here http://spice-blog.ru/pictures/pequin/images.html
By the way, http://spice-blog.ru is a Chili blog in Russian :)

Hi Boris! nice nickname you have btw! :)

Welcome, very nice to see people from all around the world here!
Chiles really join all! Great! :)

You are very right about the plant, it could be called round pequin, or tepin, or chiltepin or anything like that.
Looks very unique, especially the pale green color when immature!
Will the pods get loose very easily when you touch the mature pods?
Or are they attached tightly to "stems" of the pods?
If they get loose very easily, it usually tells about the wild for when it comes to tepins.

Pequin is a good term if it seems to be a bred variety, to my knowledge, pequin term is more commonly used with a little elongated pods, but I've seen it to be used on round pods too.

Very interesting looking plant anyways!
I could do a little trade for that if you like, I could send you several kinds of vars.

Thanx :)
The berry isn't attached too tightly, but won't fall after a touch. So it's not too wild :) But it's still interesting, eh?
I'll email you right now :)

Yeah, very! The light colored immature pod makes it very different compared to others I've seen!

Some wild chiles can be also tightly attached so it doesn't tell it all, but usually gives an idea..

By the way, some new berries are becoming reddish. I still think that sending it's seeds over the world is a good idea :)
