Hi all!

... I've seen it mentioned a few times that GH Flora Mato and FloraMicro are a good combination for a hydro mix.

Can someone give me the exact ratios for veg, flower and fruiting stages that you've had success with?  How many mls per gallon of each?

 Thanks much !!!

That depends a lot on the age, size and variety of the chili. Also amount of light they receive affects a lot the desired amount of nutrients. Unfortunately there is really no perfect answer to your question. But this is as close as it gets to good instructions.

Those dozes are for hemp though, so I would at least half the dozes for chilis. It's much better to start with too mild solution than too strong. Plants seem to grow very well on surprisingly mild solutions.

If you are growing sensitive varieties like rocotos or chinenses I wold use 1/4th of nutrients and make stronger solutions later on if/when needed. For baccatums and annuums halfing of dozes is good start.

Am I right saying, that Floramato is combination of FloraGrow and FloraBloom? Because I cant find eshop in my country (CZ), which sells Floramato. With others grow, bloom, micro there are no problems.

or can I use combination of Grow, Bloom and Micro instead Floramato and micro?

thanks

Fatalii

Hmm it's actually stuff meant for continously producing plants like peppers.
Used just with Floramicro.

You can use gro, bloom and micro too but you can definitely get better results with FloraMato + FloraMicro combination when it comes to producing pods!

And you are using Floramato dry, or liquid? Because I can order one from local store here. How much you use for 1l of watter? aproximatelly.. i know, that doses is different in growing and flovering..

thanks again

Fatalii

I didn't know there is dry one  available, I have used just the liquid one.
You can use it approx with instructions on the floramato bottle. Very little and even for cuttings and seedlings, like 1ml/L.

I use milder solutions when growing indoors and almost maximum/max solutions when growing greenhouse/outdoors. Of course, depending on the varieties and the stage of growth.

As a rule of thumb: More for baccas and annuums and less for  pubes and chinenses.
I progressively lessen the micro amount and increase the mato amount as the flowering progresses.

With the wild species... it's a puzzle sometimes to get the solution just right but it's not dangerous to experiment a little!

Here's an example:
http://fatalii.net/chile/?u=g&c=search&word=dutch&id=6285

This one tolerates very high doses of micro/mato solution so I gave only very little micro in the end and a little over-scale with the mato. But this one was with outdoor/greenhouse growing.

The same amounts with some other variety might result only very little yield.

So the dose is approximately 1ml/l. That i wanted to know.. Because how big package to order.

btw: here is the link for dry one: http://www.generalhydroponics.com/genhydro_US/floramatodry.html

thanks you very much Fatalii

Fatalii

Yes, 1ml in the beginning, then more later (2-3ml/L).

No prob!

Ive read your growguide and im interested in this Floramato/micro combo. Im just starting my first hydroponic-project. Ive bought the Yaroots X-tank 4pot system. It seems pretty much the same as Atami Wilma.

I wonder if this Mato/micro combination is recommended, Im looking for a pretty simple nutrient dosing for my first hydro-project. Is it someone here that have tried the x-tank? I would love getting some information about suggested nutrients. Im going to use hydroton(leca).

Im also about to choose seeds, is there any recommendations for seeds to be used in this system. Im definately looking for some very resistent variety that can  take many variations (cause of mistakes etc...) and pest/disease resistent. Thats my big concern, not what subspecies or hotness it has etc.

to Fatalii: can you plese check your floramato liquid fertilizer and compare the values of nutrients with this:

Total Nitrogen (N) 10.0 %
1% Ammoniacal Nitrogen
9% Nitrate Nitrogen
Available Phosphate (P205) 6.0 %
Soluble Potash (K20) 18.0 %
Calcium (Ca) 6.0 %
Total Soluble Magnesium (Mg) 2.0 %
2.0% Water Soluble Magnesium
Combined Sulfur (S) 3.5 %
Iron (Fe) 0.15 %
0.15% Chelated Iron (Fe)

It is from Floramato dry..
thanks

<manux>: thanks for the .pdf about GHE nutrient application! Unfortunately it doesn't say a word about Mato. Anyhow there was (if I remember correctly, at GHE's US website) also a file about Mato/Micro application in .pdf-format. I can't find it anymore! Have you got it or have you seen it?

Fatalii: yes, looks like "Mato dry" is about to replace the fluid-Mato. In US there is Mato dry only presented at manufacturer's website. Time to load your stock with the good ol' stuff?  :D Please keep us updated when you go to Mato dry: dosage, experience on it, etc. Thanks!

A made a solution: 8 litres; 2,5ml micro and 2,5ml mato-> the roots were developing just fine- nice and white, so about three days after, I added another 2,5ml of each, checked pH and go to bed. In the morning the ends of roots were brown, so I did threw out the solution and make milder. Now about 3 days after change, the ends are still brown, but new roots are white again.

so, got a question:
datasheet of floramato says: 1ml mato + 1ml micro for seedling.. there is even dosage 4ml Mato + 3ml micro.. I did not have even 1+1 ml/l

but datasheet of micro says just 0,25ml micro.. in combination with 0,25 bloom and 0,25 grow..

all values are for hydroponic which I use: aeroponic with sprinklers. I know, that it would be much easier with ec metr, but I do not have it, yet.

Can somebody tell me, how it really is.. thanks

Fatalii

Hmm, for small seedlings its very safe to give 10+10ml to 10 liters of water. The brownish roots might be because of something else. If you use aeroponic with sprinklers, I strongly suggest to timer it to water the roots like for few mins every hour or so.

I've learned that chiles like that more than continous sprinkling, I also learned most varieties like ebb more as it's gentle. :)

Don't worry about the roots at first, it might just be a little shock, they should grow new, healthy  roots soon.

I have timer set to 15 minutes ON and 15 minutes OFF, most of them have new healthy white roots now, but the solution is 2,5+2,5 to 6 litres. I have about 20 plants there, two or three of each kind/species, next week or so, I will get 10 of them (the most healthy) into ebbflood system and than make stronger solution..

Hope I will not damage the roots when moving.

Fatalii

Moving the plants is always a shock but with EBB & flood it has been smallest shock ever, no problems there, the plants will continue growing in no time!
I was moving plants perhaps even too much last year but it didn't seem to matter...

I am rather worried about the roots when moving, becouse they are tiny and thin. Last week, a just move with one of them by my hand and second day, he was dead  ??? :'(

they did not look like yours in fatalii.net/hydroponic picture "Transferring a seedling from Cuttingboard to Waterfarm"

first picture: the plant with roots from your site
second: my roots

And this confused me:

I have two boliwian rainbows, but they look different: leaves are green/violet. The one with green leaves had violet at first too, but than turned in green  ???

[ylläpito on poistanut liitteen]

Fatalii

Hmm.. I can't see anything wrong with your seedlings roots on that pic? Looks good so far? One plant died? Hard to say why, too aggressive sprinklers perhaps?

About the bolivian rainbows, those look perfectly normal, they can do that as seedlings, depending on how much light they get. They will be just fine

ok, many thanks for assurance  :D hope they will be ok..  :) today i am changing the solution, I threw out old solution, make a new one (just fresh water with 6,5 pH)- I read it somewhere, that it is good to give just fresh water between old and new solution.. and tomorrow they will get 1ml mato + 1ml micro/l. I will post some pics after some time..
