Hello everyone,
Does anybody Have any information about the Mata Frade pepper,
I currently have what I believe to be two small plants growing now...(thanks to Daniel)
From what I have been able to gather, is that the seeds came from Roraima State (Northern Brazil, the Amazon region), and it grows upright, it's green when immature then matures to a violet color, measures + or - 1.5 cm in length and 0.5 cm in width and is very hot, it's suposed to be one very rare species of hot pepper... As yet I don't know what species it is!
Here's a few pics, not much to see yet!

Looks very interesting, kinda resembles dark C. chinense, like Pimenta da Neyde, I assume it will have dark pods like Neyde... will be interesting to see if they change their color when they ripen!
Unusual variety anyways, congrats!
Thanks Fatalii, only time will tell I guess???
Hello everyone,

sorry not much has happened as they are very slow growers

They are about 30cm tall now,
2 - 4 flower buds seem to be forming at each internode
Yeah, definitely a chinense, that's interesting variety.
I might be interested in swap if you can find anything interesting.
No worries Fatalii,
but we will have to wait
I have no seeds till I can isolate some from this grow season
No hurry, I guess I have plenty to grow already for the season -10 :)
Will be interesting to see more pics!
here are a few new pics
the first flower, size of the flower is approx 4mm

the leaf seems to have very tiny spikes/thorns?

perhaps more like a sparse pubescens...I will try and take a clearer pic later!
here is a better pic, notice the sparce tiny barbs!!!

Yeah, you'd better don't even try to imagine. But it's so nice to come home and go to the room where plants are :) Turn on art. light and feel oneself almost under summer sun :)
