Yes, looks like mold/fungus... For some reason, my c.chacoenses have been bewitched with mold from the beginning. It doesn't seem to move easily to other capsicums, and even "c.exile" (with very bad infection) could live with it without too many problems. The leaves just turned gray and dropped. At first, the gray spots looked a lot like those in your photo.

In Finland there`s available a growth-enhancing spray named Jack`s Magic; it`s supposed to work on different kinds of leaf mold and fungi, too. I don`t know what`s the ingredient in it that does it,however...  :(

Organic sprays that you could try:

(Table-)Sodium carbonate- spray

-2 teaspoons sodium carbonate
-2 teaspoons liquid pine soap
-1 litre water

Mix ingredients and spray on foliage.

Apple cider vinegar- spray

-1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
-2 teaspoons liquid pine soap
-2 liters of water

Mix ingredients and spray on foliage.

It would be probably wise to remove the infected leaves and spray the un-infected part of the plant. It`s said in many books that it`s a defect of silicon in the medium that makes the plants succumb to fungi and mold. A n infusion made of Equisetum arvense, a wild plant growing at least here in Finland,is supposed to be rich in silicon, and may help to prevent this type on infections

Thanks for the responses. Don't think it is a fungus. It cannot be rubbed off. A friend who has a horticultural program in Florida says he has had this on plants in the green house but not outside and he thinks it's some kind of deficiency but hasn't really been able to identify it. Here is a closer look.

Looks like the stuff rises from the leafs surface so it does look like it could ve rubbed off. But if you say so that it can't, then it can't.

Anyway it seems like it is really some 'stuff' so it isn't just color changing. Also it looks like it had been grown onto the leaf.

Hey, could it possibly have been lain there. I mean could those be somekind of eggsacks of some insect.

Ofcourse it could be a disease too. Meaning that the stuff isn't really any stuff. It could just be the leaf itself with bumps which are infectious and look white and are not very smooth.
Joo.
