Going to be trying this for the first time in a month or two after my Halloween ornamentals are bigger.  My question is, "Has anyone else done this successfully?"

Never tried to intentionally fuse pepper stems together, so not quite sure how to go about it.  Do I just gently twist them together once they're big enough and cross my fingers?  Should I try scoring the inside edges that will be touching so that they will heal together faster?  Should I sacrifice a chicken and I don't know, whatever the voodoo people do with chickens to appease the pepper gods?

Yes, but It's better to start twisting them as soon as possible. Anything but few centimeters at the top of the stem would be too rigid to twist properly.
I planted two sprouts (one could plant three and braid them) together and started twisting them as soon as there were something to twist. I used rubberband to tie the twisted stems together. The twist doesn't need to be tight at this moment, this will be taken care of when the stems grow thicker.

I believe, that plants of a genetically stable variety would fuse better. My twisted plants are F1-hybrids, so after 3-4 years the twist is tight but they're not actually fused (if that's possible at all, I remember having seen pics of fused stems).

I'm a stupid American, can't read Finnish, but the pretty pictures are pretty self explanatory.  About what I thought, cut the insides of the stems, mush them together, hope for the best. ;D

Man. Use Google Translator, I use it and everybody thinks I'm half cuban, half chinese!  ;D

It does Finnish?  Gonna have to check that out!

Got myself a nice firefox plugin to let me automatically translate.  Google translate isn't perfect, but it lets me read enough of the finnish to get the idea.  Thanks for the heads up.
