Aiheesta on näköjään tehty annuunien suhteen ihan oikea tieteellinen julkaisu. Tämän mukaan itämiskyky heikkenee huomattavasti 4-5 vuoden jälkeen, mutta onpa näilläkin itänyt 11v vanhat siemenet. Itellä nyt n. 10v vanhoista siemenistä annuumit iti lähes täysin ja chinenset jotain 20-50%, jotkut lajikkeet jäi nollille tai tyyliin 1/20 lähti. Baccat iti kans ihan hyvin, 50%+ vielä.

Tein paluun foorumille 11 vuoden tauon jälkeen. Mutta sitten aiheeseen: Kuinka vanhoja siemeniä olette saaneet vielä itämään ja missä ovat olleet säilytyksessä?

Tämä tuli mieleen kun laitettiin tyttären kanssa siemeniä multaan (tehnen jonkin päiväkirjan näistä myöhemmin) ja seassa oli yhdet todella vanhat siemenet, jotka ihan mielenkiinnosta istutettiin. Nämä olivat cherry bomb lajikkeesta ja siemenet olivat olleet kuivatun podin sisällä. Pieni salapolisointi paljasti, että kyseinen chili oli vuodelta 2004, joten en ollut kovin luottavainen itämiseen.

Mutta älkääpä mitään! Kahdestakymmenestä istutetusta siemenestä yksi suostui itämään!    Nyt sitten katsotaan millainen geenivauriomutantti tästä kasvaa.

Minisadonkorjuu Nappasin tuon toistaiseksi ainoan SLP NagaX:n ja Trinidad Scorpionit tuosta pistokkaasta juurrutetusta pensaasta. Tai tuota voi pensaaksi sanoa, oli kaksi oksaa vaakatasoon, toinen lyhyt ja toinen pitkä. Menneessä aikamuodossa siksi, että toi sai lähteä kompostiin tilaa viemästä, varsinkin koska pakastimessa on noita riittävästi ja siemeniäkin riittää. NagaX:stä laitoin yhden siemenen heti itämään tuohon vaimon idätyslaatikkoon, katsotaan saisiko tuosta seuraavan sukupolven itämään (olisko toi F6). Eipä tuossa ainokaisessa montaa siementä ollut.
Kastelun kanssa kävi vanhanaikaisesti, on noi taimet alkaneet valon lisääntyessä käyttämään vettä enempi kuin aiemmin, pääsi pari tainta kuivahtamaan enemmänkin. Eniten taisi kärsiä toi Rocoto ja Manabi Sweet näytti siltä, että ei ole valoakaan saanut tarpeeksi, ollut isompien katveessa. Manabin nostin nyt keittiöön ikkunalaudalle, ja muut tuolla kukkapöydällä sai pikkaisen lisää tilaa. Pitäisi alkaa ruukuttamaan, mutta mistä tilat?

Aika kivasti lisäyksiä muutamassa päivässä siis. Aji Fantasyä on kasa niskalenkeillä joita idätin mullassa vähän silleen "kokeillaan nyt näitäki enneku pistetään pois". Myöskin muita niskalenkkejä näkyvissä ja ituja myöskin tarkoitus istuttaa tänään: Bhut jolokia Yellow sekä Manzano Rojo, eli ehkä saadaan uusi lajikin vielä lisättyä listalle.
