Even if Capsicum Ciliatum is not a pepper anymore it is still an interesting plant.
My indoor plant is flowering again right now and this gave me the wish to post some pictures I took this year.
Here are two links to them.

It's a strange, beautiful plant, indeed! Nice pics, btw... ;) As for its classification, the situation seems to be very confusing. In his comprehensible main work "The Genera of Solanaceae" (2001), prof. A.T.Hunziker clearly counts c.ciliatum/rhomboideum as a real capsicum. Interestingly, very recently some Brazilean researchers have also strongly supported Hunziker in this opinion, stating and also proving that c.ciliatum is in many aspects closer to the "best known capsicums" than some wild capsicums we take for granted. I tend to respect prof. Hunziker's opinions here very much - he dedicated most of his life in research of these plants and their relatives. Clearly, there's a lot of basic research here that needs to be done - ciliatum isn't the only "problem child"... It's a jungle out there. ;)
Nice pictures, Riccardo!

I totally agree with this.
But capsicum or not, the Ciliatum is one of my favorite plants!
