Kirjoitti: skaldyr - syyskuu 06, 2009, 22:51:20 ip
Has anyone tried grafting two chile plant?
can you graft one kind of chile on to another an have it bear two kind of fruit?

I have read that ascorbic acid helps the plants heal faster, but have should it be used? sprayed on the leaves or watered into the soil.

Yeah, you can do that!

It's very difficult but it can be done.
I need to get more into it next season.

I dont think i can wait, so i sow some seeds in a few weeks, just to try it.

Im thinking of doing it like with tomatoes, cutting both plants at an angle and putting them together with latex tube.

Maybe putting some clonex on the cuts. To make it heal faster seems to work when im pruning the plants.

Latex tube is a great idea, I just used  some tape.

I used clonex too, not sure if it does any good.

It's normal that the plant will look BAD for a looong time but after that,
there is a slim chance that it starts growing. It's very difficult but possible.

Have you had any success grafting chiles?

I just grafted a Bhut Jolokia branch into a Fatalii x Peruvian Chinense trunk with self-fusing tape.
I hope it works out.

Would be a great idea!
But until I have just one LED lamp for my bonchis I have to skip it.

But I will have another LET lamp for testing soon.
Then I will try it! :)

Have you tried grafting cuttings? Because this site www.vartetutkimus.net (http://www.vartetutkimus.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7&Itemid=22&lang=en) has instructions for that too.
That could be pretty easy in somekind of hydro- or aerophonic system with HPS or LED.

It's also possible to use the cutting grafting instructions with two growing plants.
Just instead of grafting two cuttings you graft two branches together.
