Ok here is something to think about!!!!
I received the seeds from the seed bank in the Netherlands as CGN 22797.
I have 4 plants 3 are your normal purple flowered C. Pubescens, however the fourth plant has white flowers...,
Here are 2 pics of the normal purple flower variety

Is it really a pubescens? The closeup photos do not seem to look like a pubescens at all. However I suppose the seed was black? Perhaps some inadvertent crossing or seed mixup?
yes the seed was black, also there are no pods yet
maybe it's F1 after some crossing
in that way 3 purple and 1 white would fit
the seeds were suposedly pure???.........if a cross then what will cross with a C. Pubescens???
another C. pubescens, C. eximum and C. cardenasii
I guess we will have to wait to see how the fruit turns out?????
Very interesting... Hope it make some pods! :)

Have you checked those out? Fatalii confirmed that there are white flowered pubes!
Hmm. the first link points to incorrect pic, but the second one is correct.
Sometimes the flowers had a tint of purple and with some, it was nearly impossible too see.
So yes, I would call that a white flowered pubescens.
Sure, there are white white flowered pubescenses.
3 first pictures here are all from the same plant, Red Peruvian rocoto from Fatalii's seeds.
