You've got it right  ;) I've been thinking 'cause lack of space try to grow some bonsaikind of peppers. Seeds been bought by You sometime ago. I recently bought some more seeds and instructions for bonsai (haven't receive them yet). Actually I'm finnish but I'd like to learn some english in written and spoken. I'd love to see abt. mr lee from U.S to see some outdoor growing in great naturally warm enviroment. Peppers are global and this kind of forum make's it even better for anyone around our planet. Is it true peppers for sale (red, yellow, green, ramiro) in grocery store are cultivated from wild peppers?

Fatalii

Yes, all capsicums are. :)

Yeah, definitely go for the bonchi, the most fun chile stuff ever!

By the way, could it be possible to grow bonsai in a little longer time? I have only less than 0.5 m2 space to grow peppers. Is OK to call chile pepper only peppers. In Finland translation of pepper could be either 'paprika' or pepper (pippuri). That's why we have have some misunderstanding of talking peppers. I'm asking abt. growing seedlings abt. 20 cm and after it take cutting. Then try to make it to root and grow it on and on and on... I think it takes time but what can I do? Just now I have a cutting from Pepper Parade. There is not much information of Pepper Parade in Your databank. I found only few pictures of it. Maybe it's not worth of growing? It has very thick stem when it's growing and I wonder what it will be. Maybe all cultivates are no worth growing by bonsai -style? I've seen like Dutch Habanero is very excellent example of Bonsai. Maybe I have to think of taking room for peppers and let it grow or flow... You're son of a cold climate and You are one of the best pepper growers in the world.

Fatalii

I prefer term chile / chili whatever over pepper. As you said. Term "Pepper" causes misunderstanding.

You can definitely use some smaller plants to make Bonchi's, For example Habanero -relatives (chinense type) are usually very compact and still can grow very thick, woody stem which is ideal for Bonchi growing.

Actually, you can grow even huge vars in a small space, they usually still make a thick stem, just keep pruning the plant when ever needed.

jewe

looks good. How old the plant is ?

If I try to grow bonchi how long should I wait that it seems like your bonchis ?

Fatalii

Made it after the last year.

Well, it's  possible to get very nice results even after 6 months or so.

Some varieties grow quite thick woody stem very quickly.

I'm planning to make a bonchi from the huge greenhouses. It has been only 4+ week on the system and already has a nice woody stem!
So with ideal conditions its possible to get nice bonchi very fast, in couple of months!
