I finally had some time to take the pictures of my plants, they are in a small space as you can see from the first picture :) almost all of the plants are in pots of 25cm diameter, i water them regularly and use tomato fertilizer once a week. I have some plants in my garden, outside, but will only post the pictures of the plants in pots that i have inside.

some of the plants from the top:

First Black Pearl plant (i have 2):

The label on the bag of the seeds says Brown Congo, but i don't know if such variety exists:

Cayenne

Dorset Naga

Fuego (Hybrid F1)

Another Fuego

Habanero Orange

Lux Hot

Calabrese a mazzetto

Mexican red

Naga Jolokia

Numex Twilight

Second Black Pearl (this one has smaller leaves, the stem split. I noticed that it had 4 leaves instead of 2 when germinated)

Red Savina

Calabrese Tondo

That's it for now :)

I was a bit late this year, had a few things going and didn't have the time to plan ahead as you can see. I could have planted all of the plants outside but the field wasn't ready so i had to use the pots inside. Next year will probably limit myself to 2 or 3 varieties and use the whole field (aprox. 500 m²) + will try to build a small greenhouse and use proper fertilizers.

EDIT: there was an error in the img code so the second Black Pearl was hidden.

Fatalii

Nice indoor jungle!!

Oh, there's also an C. annuum called Mexican Red.

Looking forward to see your next season too!

atlas

I had an error in the code in the first post.

I added this:
--------
Second Black Pearl (this one has smaller leaves, the stem split. I noticed that it had 4 leaves instead of 2 when germinated)

--------

How many varieties are there of the brown/chocolate peppers? I found this picture:

There are Habanero Chocolate, Habanero Chocolate Congo and Habanero Brown Congo, but based on another source, chocolate congo is this:
Which one do i have? Will probably see when it ripens, right?

Fatalii, do you have a picture of C. annum Mexican Red?

Is there any good source that describes different Capsicum species and which variety belongs to which species?

Thanks for the replys

Fatalii

No, I have pics only for Mexican red which is C. pubescens, search engine for firefox here:

Damn those brown varieties look so good as always, they tend to be quite hot too.

JungleRain

You have a great garden growing there atlas, when will you be taken them outside?

atlas

I'm afraid they will have to stay where they are. I realize that the space is way too small but I don't have any other place to put them :( Well,  I could split them in half and use the other balcony too I guess.

lee

Those plants look very healthy!. And I sure do too want to see yor next one..  ;)

I have a sad news. It seems that the seeds got mixed up somehow. My Dorset Naga doesn't look like Dorset Naga at all. Red Savina is also strange it looks like Aji Dulce.
I have a few pictures if someone can identify the species:

"Dorset Naga"

"Red Savina"

---------------------------------------------------------
I harvested one fuego plant and pickled the pods, this plant started to make pods again, but only four of them.
The other fuego is ripening, 3 pods are already red, and the other will be soon.

Fuego:

Mexican Red, both Calabreses, Numex Twilight (beautiful plant), "Naga Jolokia" (I am not sure if it is the right species): are also ripening. I will upload more pictures on monday

Thanks Jah :)

I have another picture of it:

It is very crunchy (unripe fruit, still green)

2 more pictures of my unknown "Dorset Naga" If someone knows what it is... i tasted one today and it tastes like unripe habanero.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Orange Habanero:

And some pictures of harvested chiles

Calabrese a mazzetto:

Mexican Red:

Naga Jolokia (or at least i think so... one on the left is some kind of mutant)

Lux Hot:

Fuego (plant from the smaller pot. The pods from the other plant were aprox. 17cm long, these are around 12cm):

Cayenne:

Oh yes, why do the buds and flowers fall off? My Bishop Crown was 165cm high, everyday it had at least 4 flowers but all of them just fell off, i picked up at least 30 flowers and buds from the floor. I have 2 pictures:

Other plants encountered the same problem but only when there were forming some buds, a lot of flowers would just fell off. Did this happen because of too small containers? Overwatering?

Fatalii

Lovely pods!

That "Dorset Naga" Looks yummy!

About the flower drop, there could be plenty of reasons, you can check fatalii.net - how to grow chiles -section for possible reasons.

It's normal that some of the flowers drop but if all of them will drop... then you clearly have a reason for it.

Small pot and / or overwatering can be causes, it's impossible to tell from a distance.

Also, you shouldn't let the plants dry completely when they are flowering.
It's a good method to use to engourage flowering,  but when there are lots of buds, keep the soil a little moist all the time.
