Hehehe, some serious sowing there!!

Always remember make sure that your labels will last... I used some "permanent markers" for labeling and some of them were totally wiped out in the end of the season.. gladly I made good stickers (with brother labeling machine!) which will last even several season, also outdoors and in the greenhouse!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Hope you will have a interesting season! Definitely looks promising!

Hi Patrik!
Looks very impressive with all them types of chinense. I'm sure it's gonna be a hot summer in Stockholm!
Just a quick question: What's the stuff you've spread over the soil and what good does it do? I'm a beginner so I'm just trying to suck up as much tricks as possible ;-)
Hopps det blir en bra høst! (my Swedish is terrible)
Chilli tastes good. And burns nicely as well!

Hi Mads!

Thanks!

The stuff is vermiculite, it makes it esier for the seeds to pop up. I have soil under the seeds and vermiculite over the seeds. vermiculite has no crust like soil. It also keep the moist around the seeds. It has worked for me.

We also used vermiculite and other stuff with the commercial garden germination (can't remember what it was called..) to cover the seeds.
What is also useful is that it prevents the algae forming on the rockwool thus damaging the seed or seedling
(in worst case, killing the seedling).

Hi Grant!

Sorry for my late answer, it seems to be bushy and quite small. The pods looks great, like caterpillers.

Hopefully I will post more here soon.

A little summery of my 2009 season so far.

My indoor Hot Pepper Lantern - This pepper is one of my favorites. Maybe its not the hottest or the most tasty or the most prolific but it provides me with fresh pods from april - december.

White Rocoto

White Rocoto flower

Lila Purpur - Bell pepper

Two very similar plants: Serrano Hildago & Goats Weed

Flower of Jalapeno Delicias, I believe this jalapeno should have a milder heat than a "regular" jalapeno

Clavo - Capsicum chinense

Chocolate Bhut Jolokia, I am really looking forward to see the pods on this one and to taste it.

Seeds from a pepper friend in Trinidad

Today, it was a rainy day, Ida and Hot Pepper Lantern was out on the balcony for some photos. It did not went as good as I hoped. Ida loved to hold the pods, but she hold them so hard that the pods was almost crushed. I had to wash her hand carefully after this meeting...I wonder how it will work when I put the plants on the balcony more permanently.

Harvest after the Ida photos. 35 pods.

Finally our garden house is ready.

Lila Purpur in its new home.

Not white at all (yet!?) - White Rocoto. This pods looks much more healthy than the first pod that changed color. The only problem is that it is yellow like a lemon! Time will tell if it will turn into a white.

Many of the peppers now has small pods, like this small capsicum chinense Condors Beak ( It looks like it has some annuum genes)

Nice house ;)
Awesome peppers too.
Do that rocoto really turns in white?
Good luck!

Thanks! I actually never have seen a matured White Rocoto. According to Åke Truedsson, who I got them seeds from, it should mature as Yellow-white (or paleyellow). He collected the seeds in Peru.
