Fantastic Plants Lee!!!, What sort of nutrients do you use?

lee

Chilli focus is a good basic nutrient for chilli's and I've got good results from it.

Red Savina Habanero "Bonchi" from 2008. Plant was cut down beginning of 2009

Harvested some Pimenta da Neyde, Aji Cito, Fatalii, Habanero Red Savina

PDN pod taste good and they have a nice burn to it as well

Amazing Lee!

Seems like you're gonna enjoy your own crop for a long time!!

That Red Savina of yours looks a bit more like Red Caribbean Habanero...

hi all
had my surgery 2 weeks ago and my arm feels like sh.. Will take about 10-12 weeks to recover :(

The weather here is too cold and had to put C.lanceolatum inside. Plant was kinda late with producing fruits but it's on the right way now.
It has a reasonable amount of fruits that are maturing

glad to hear you're on the mend :)

Cool pods on the lanceolatum.  I think I had a bad batch of compost as a few of my plants, lanceolatum included, have really struggled to grow this year.

lee

I started those seeds beginning of Januari. Plant really started to grow good around July/August.
It would be better to sow them in December..

I'm sure you will succeed next "grow" year. Trial and error.. best way to do it  :)

cheers

I have every intention of keeping it alive over the winter & probably I'll get some fruit next year.  I was just caught out by how slowly it grew (though I think that was partly the compost, which seems to have stunted a few plants)

About to harvest the last 30-40 pods this weekend. And then Bonchi time!!, can't wait.

Got that book, "The complete chili pepper book" and they included a bonchi section with Fatalii's bonchi's.
Great stuff!, great book.

I like what you got from lanceolatums!
One you got lance , you have a lot of seeds!
Lance do not die!
You know what i mean?

Lance is very resistance plant indeed. Very strong color on those pods, getting the seeds out can be a bit messy...  ;)
And by the way Lee, have you noticed that even those calyx teeth can get some red(ish) color!

Today harvested the last fruits on C.lanceolatum. Well there are some unripe ones but I can´t hold myself anymore, will start trimming today  :D .

I must say them I´m very pleased with the yield of Lance as I started it relative late.

Well here's lance. I bit bald but he will do fine in the end :). I haven't shaped it yet because I don't know what to do with all those stems. I trimmed some smaller roots and will let it sit for a while and see how it will grow.
I don't want to mess em up by removing the wrong stems/roots.

I can always mess it up later.. :)  ;)

btw, have moved them under my CFL's and hope to see some green soon..

I installed some CFL's for those Bonchi's. Took it out of my growbox and screwed it underneath a shelf. On top I've put a germinating tray that collects the heat conducted by the CFL's

Damn, Lee. Quite impressive list of wild chiles. Those lance roots are so cool! My lance doesn't focus growing the main stem... It's very busy gettin bushy.  ;) It really has the very same growing habit as yours.

Good yield!

C.Lanceolatum has some new growth on several branches :) . I even can see some purple-ish new growth on C.rhomboideum, anyway there's something growing on that stem.
It seems like Bonchi's love CFL too, will post some pics. tomorrow.
