Fatalii

Will be a great wild year for you!
Looks like you will have a nice batch of wild bonchis after next season!!

Gladly, they are easiest bonchis to take care of! :)

Looks like they made it! :)

Wthey will surely look great in the future...

I would cut a lance a bit more... but that of course depends how large you want the plant to be.

It will be easy to cut later too. :)

Thanks to Fatalii!, there is a way to preserve those precious Wilds

Some new growth developing on the other side, two purple dots on the left. The growth will be more symmetrical that way

Damn that start looks promising... now, I would cut the smallest roots off.

It takes a little while to do but now that it seems to survive, it's worth doing!

And that plant will deserve a GREAT looking pot, be careful not to choose too large or the plant loses the bonchi-look. :)

Another tip I could give is cutting the stems shorter as more growth emerges, just to make the new growth very dense.

It might feel a pain in the ass at first but it's worth it in the end!

If you give that plant some time, it will looka amazing a little later!!

Looking forward to see more pics.

Nono, just trim the visible small roots to make it look more MASSIVE. small roots usually spoil the esthetics of the bonchi plant.

Just keep trimming the long new stem growth and flowerbuds... at some point after some roots have developed, add some biobizz, I know you have some! :)

Much better, don't you think...? :)

The long stems can be pruned later, but that all depends how the foliage grows.
Rhombe has very special growing habit compared to other wild chiles.
In a way it's even easier than most but so different!

It will be great later.

The next thing is a bit frustrating for rhombe...

As the most new stems it will grow are basically all "too long" They should be pinched back as they grow until they grow directly from the thicker stem.
When this happens all around the plant it doesn't matter if there are some longer stems around as there won't be any empty spaces around the thick stems.
It's a bit hard to explain but you will see when it grows. Basically this will slow down the progress but it's definitely worth it in the end!

Hmmm.. here's what I would do with the smaller rhombe:

I'm quite sure it will not die because of that.
But of course, it will be your risk to take. :)

For the new growth that tends to be long, I would cut the.
I would let some best looking branches to grow and bend them with wires to me some nice looking branches which
would turn into wood a little later. :)

My idea was to prune the larges (as I already did) and then let the smaller ones grow the same size (what will take about a week).
Or do you suggest to cut the larges ones to the size of the smallest?

thx, btw I got some mail today ;D ;D

Fatalii

Ohh, that was fast. :)

Well, it all depends what kind of shape you want for your rhombe, if you want it to be bushier, just trim the the most spindly stems off.

When you trim it dramatically at this point, the growing will be much easier later when the plant tends to keep up with the bushy shape.

Yeah ;D.

Hmm, I think I keep it at that height. Those smaller stems will need about a week to get there, and even new growth keeps popping up around the entire stem  ;D.
Just to get a better impression

My next bonchi project already started. Will let them grow and fuse there stems later on  :)  We'll see

3x lances in 1 tray.
