toukokuu 08, 2009, 04:32:50 ap
Hi everybody :)
Since nobody knows what is this variety, I decided to name it.
The name will be "The Pin tepin" :)

Do you like it?
By the way, yesterday I've picked some seeds. Welcome to request :)

For now I've tasted only that round tiny pequin http://chilifoorumi.fi/index.php?topic=5744.0
It's a bit fruity, explosive hot (well, Wikipedia says that Tepins are explosive and Pequins are long-burning), some berries have sweet bell flavour, others do not at all. From the same tree I mean.
What I do love is a taste of Pretty Purple. It is such a clean, crystal clean hotness with a bit of fruitiness without any bell-like taste. My tiny pequin has similar but not the same taste.
Hope soon I will taste many other wild ones :)

That's very interesting :) Wish to have it :)

Hi everybody.
Here's my seed list for now http://spice-blog.ru/?p=290
I would be glad to share my seeds or to swap them to other varieties.
As I say, you never know if you like some variety until you taste it :) So welcome.

Thank you :) More pictures will follow :)
LainausБлагодарим вас мой друг (Hope that is right)

That's almost correct. That means "[we] thank you my friend"
In Russian the word "to thank" (and all the verbs btw) changes depending on pronoun:
I thank - благодарю (bluh-goh-duh-ryoo)
We thank - благодарим (-reem)
He or she thanks - благодарит (-reet)
They thank - благодарят (-ryat)
"h" here is not pronounced, -ryoo is as in Luke from StarWars (there's no difference between long and short U in Russian), ryat is almost as in blood :)
So I thank you too, my friend :)

Hi everybody!
I live in Russia, Chelyabinsk city. Here lives about a million people, it's an industrial city. I live in a flat with a balcony. Balcony isn't in use during winter, but from March to November the plants are there. During winter all the plants are in one of the two rooms. I use sodium lamps with built-in refluctors (mirrors) as the only light source. I grow mostly citruses and peppers, and also some other "edible" plants.

For now I'll give some links.
Here's my grow list http://spice-blog.ru/?p=292
And here's photo gallery http://spice-blog.ru/gallery2/main.php
New photos will appear soon :) I will keep the gallery in English, I guess.

A new fact about this variety... A purple sunburn on the berries...

By the way, some new berries are becoming reddish. I still think that sending it's seeds over the world is a good idea :)
PM me.

I've just added a gallery to our blog (it's our because it's not my personal :))
Here are some pics of this species http://spice-blog.ru/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=29

I guess it would be better to pack seeds from different plants of Laminada to different packages. If cross-pollination happened.
Now four berries from wild annuum are drying, seeds from just eaten Laminada pod lie alongside, and some dried seeds of it are ready to be sent. Another nice big pod of Laminada is ready, I'm going to cut it right now.
Maybe I should make some pics? I'll go and do.

Lainausit's a very kind and honoring to spread around the seeds that were originally spread by a person that died recently.

Thanx for that. Really.
Lainauscan you tell is it any cold tolerant?

I can't be sure. Cause they stay alive in a draught from window cracks, but air's temperature is not too low because of radiators. Else we will freeze here. So window-sill temperature is hardly lower than +7..+10.
But it still is the best as a hardy plant than can survive in a cold overwatered soil and hot dry air from radiators.

Hello :)
Let me tell you about a pepper plant from Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant :) I work there as a setter-up of non-destructive control devices.
Here we grow a very interesting capsicum, which is common annuum with uncommon properties.
First of all, it grows fine on northern windows where other chilies do not feel well. Winter days here are full of cold wind from bad windows, hot air from heat radiators, and other bad for peppers things.
Then it is enough prolific in these conditions. It's flowers are full of pollen, also it bears seedless (non-pollinated) fruits in winter. Grows as a tree, but not stretches in a liana.
And the last fact is that it's fruits are really tasty, aromatic, sweet, crispy, juicy and hot. I've compared it's heatness with my Tabasco, Cayenne and others known cultivars - it's the hottest. Much hotter than all the others. And even hotter than my Peach Habanero. It's uncommon for annuums, eh?
This cultivar was presented to me by my colleague and friend Nikolay Shavkuta. He died two weeks ago...
In memory of him I want to spread this cultivar all over the world. I named it Laminada, that means "Rolling" as in Tube-Rolling in Spanish (well, one more Spanish or Portugese name for chili :) It sounds good as for me). I wish you will like it.
Fatalii, Laminada's seeds will be sent to you with that little wild annuum. Others may obtail it's seeds by PMing me, as about other seeds.

Thanx :)
The berry isn't attached too tightly, but won't fall after a touch. So it's not too wild :) But it's still interesting, eh?
I'll email you right now :)

Wild Chiles / A tiny round pequin?
huhtikuu 14, 2009, 11:32:00 ap
Hello there :)
My name is Boris, I'm from Russia. I am glad to be here.
About a year ago I've received an "unknown" seed package from a friend. She never knew where it was from :)
Well. One of five seeds germinated :) It became a pretty tree with tiny leaves, white flowers and orange-red little hot berries. They have a fruitty flavor and "explosive" heat... By the way, I like this variety so much that rooted a cutting, which is going to became a bonchi.

So, little questions.
1. Am I right it is kind of Pequin? Or maybe something else?
2. Are there any varieties looking similar?
3. Does anyone want to get some seeds from it? ;) It is self-pollinated using a huge fan (wind is very helpful to shake plants well to make them self-pollinate)
There's no any problem to send five or more seeds in an envelope over the world. Five or so berries are going to bear became orange, so seeds will be ready soon.

PS More photos are here http://spice-blog.ru/pictures/pequin/images.html
By the way, http://spice-blog.ru is a Chili blog in Russian :)
