Nice!! Cant wait myself
Will start in a few weeks :D
Hehehe, some serious sowing there!!
Always remember make sure that your labels will last... I used some "permanent markers" for labeling and some of them were totally wiped out in the end of the season.. gladly I made good stickers (with brother labeling machine!) which will last even several season, also outdoors and in the greenhouse!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Hope you will have a interesting season! Definitely looks promising!
Thanks guys!
Its always something special when you start a new season.

Patrik
Hi Patrik!
Looks very impressive with all them types of chinense. I'm sure it's gonna be a hot summer in Stockholm!
Just a quick question: What's the stuff you've spread over the soil and what good does it do? I'm a beginner so I'm just trying to suck up as much tricks as possible ;-)
Hopps det blir en bra høst! (my Swedish is terrible)
Hi Mads!
Thanks!
The stuff is vermiculite, it makes it esier for the seeds to pop up. I have soil under the seeds and vermiculite over the seeds. vermiculite has no crust like soil. It also keep the moist around the seeds. It has worked for me.
Regards
Patrik
We also used vermiculite and other stuff with the commercial garden germination (can't remember what it was called..) to cover the seeds.
What is also useful is that it prevents the algae forming on the rockwool thus damaging the seed or seedling
(in worst case, killing the seedling).
Hi Patahontas
Could you tell me how the Aribibi Gusano grows
I tried to get some seeds of this one but couldn't
hopefully I'll be able to get it for next season

Hi Grant!
Sorry for my late answer, it seems to be bushy and quite small. The pods looks great, like caterpillers.
Hopefully I will post more here soon.

My indoor Hot Pepper Lantern - This pepper is one of my favorites. Maybe its not the hottest or the most tasty or the most prolific but it provides me with fresh pods from april - december.

Great pics. and lovely plants
Thanks Lee!
Today, it was a rainy day, Ida and Hot Pepper Lantern was out on the balcony for some photos. It did not went as good as I hoped. Ida loved to hold the pods, but she hold them so hard that the pods was almost crushed. I had to wash her hand carefully after this meeting...I wonder how it will work when I put the plants on the balcony more permanently.

Not white at all (yet!?) - White Rocoto. This pods looks much more healthy than the first pod that changed color. The only problem is that it is yellow like a lemon! Time will tell if it will turn into a white.
Many of the peppers now has small pods, like this small capsicum chinense Condors Beak ( It looks like it has some annuum genes)
Nice house ;)
Awesome peppers too.
Do that rocoto really turns in white?
Good luck!
Thanks! I actually never have seen a matured White Rocoto. According to Åke Truedsson, who I got them seeds from, it should mature as Yellow-white (or paleyellow). He collected the seeds in Peru.
//Patrik
Intesting, please put some pics when pods are ripen.
Usually white actually means pale yellow when speaking about chiles.
I don't think the color will change from the yellow to lighter color.
Some chiles are actually suprisingly white at some point.
Like Omnicolor, especially shaded pods.

I have been eating a lot of Hot Paper Lantern (sorry for calling it Hot Pepper Lantern before ). Its a great even as green.
Yes, Jukka I belive you are right pale yellow are often called white - But I wonder why they call a yellow rocoto white! I will post more photos later - I have two plants.

Have you grown / seen brown rocoto, it's the most unique rocoto I've seen.
Yes I have grown it and I am growing it. Its great, at first I did not belive there could be a brown rocoto. But I was wrong. Maybe thats why I did belive that the white rocoto was white.

Yes its hot! The heat of the rocoto is special, sometimes they are quite mild but when you think its safe they burn as hell!
It sure looks delicious :)
It looks like a plum cut in two

I didn' think it was mild... and it wasn't! I'm looking forward to make some powder out of it! :)
I must have seed from the brown rocoto! ;D
This is soooo nice pod patahontas.
Well the White Rocoto turned out to be a yellow capsicum pubescens. In some angels in seems to be somewhat paler than yellow rocoto. This pod is more than ripe. I did expect it to be more white than this :( But anyway it was very tasty and it was quite hot.

I have Turbo Pube and CAP 1492 and they are definitely more dark yellow or even orange-yellow. So this rocoto is very nice and not so usual as well.
Nice looking pod, sort of a light lemon color, what sort of flavour did it have?
The taste was in my opinion typical of the pubescens (with hits of sugersnaps (pea) and cucumber). Quite mild flesh but the innerwalls was very hot.
Blondie, a white baccatum. I tried this one last year but my plant turned out to be a hybrid. This year it looks more promising. Now they are purple and "white". According to friends in Sweden, Denmark and Norway the matured color is white. But I am not saying anything yet (remember White rocoto). There are quite many baccatums that starts white and then change color later when matured.

Your 7-pod(Blast) which is light green when unripe is very interesting, what color are they when ripe?
The Cajamarca is a nice looking plant also.
Hi! Thanks, the 7-pod(Blast) should be red when ripe.
Thanks Fatalii for those great pictures, The Canario have a similar color as the White Rocoto.
My 7 pod looks just like yours. Pale green, but with some purple spots caused by sunlight. The first pod of that plant actually was dark green from the start! Waiting for those to ripen... ;)

One of my favourite by taste and burn is just good for me to eat it raw ;)
Those fatalii (and bhut) pods look more smooth than mine.
I have more small wrinkles around them.
Pics to come later... I try to update the site today.
I agree with you my Fatalii does not look like the should.
I guess the photo makes the Bhuts smoother - I have problems with the red colors in my photos. (The first pods of Bhut were small and smooth).

Well, those bhuts will be hot enough I guess!!
Some harvest pics, could not choose which one I preferred.

Hot peppers in the dark ;D Super Datil, Bhut Jolokia, 7 pod, Fatalii ( I call this one the fat Fatalii ;D)
Nice variety of colors on the pic before the last pic!
Overall, great job!!
Well a couple of days ago winter came to town. So I harvested most of my chile peppes that were still out. The plants in greenhouse are still well with some extra help from a fan and isolation. I also attended Orto Novos chile pepper harvest. Very nice to pick peppers for almost nothing. Most pics or from this event. Last but not least its very nice to read a new book when the season is almost over. There are some nice info about Bonsai chiles in this book, Well done JUKKA!!! Really great to see that you are mentioned loads of times in this book.
Regards
Patrik

Great pics! Looks very homely!
I'm sure you're enjoying these times as much I do.
Great to hear you liked the book, I still didn't have time to read it all!
Keep up the great work!
A week ago we grilled some peppers, it was really nice. We also smoked 1 kg jalapenos (with some other annuums for our special recipe;)). Really nice but it took a whole weekend. The taste was great:)

A nice rocoto with typical rocoto taste. Many had brown(almost purple at times) parts because of the sun.
Looks very beautiful!
The purple color is great on that.
Usually rocotos get just dark color on the sun, not as clear purple as that.
Thanks Fatalii for the nice comments! I loved the looks of these rocoto.
To all of you
