Can anybody identify?

Gratefull if anybody could help us identify a variety of chili that we are growing from seed here in southern Spain.

Generally the plants are bushy, about 40cm diameter & 50cm tall. They are bearing a lot of fruit(?). they start a creamy sort of colour, turn purple and orangy red. Maybe 1cm diam 2 cm long tapering to a point.

Help appreciated on the variety name, how to know when ripe and how to prepare for storage and store.

Could you give us a link to the pictures? It might help. There are many different ornamental varieties, so otherwise the identification would be a lottery.

Only plant that I have seen like that myself is Goshoku Togarashi, but the fruits start with green colour.

You can also cook with ornamentals as long as they taste good and have the desired heat level.

Some of the ornamentals I have grown have thin flesh and a lot of seeds inside, so I have not used them for cooking, but some like Poinsettia have good heat level and a lot of pods, so I dehydrated the pods to be used as seasoning.

Those pods on your plant look good for dehydrating or even pickling with honey and garlic.

When the pods turn red, those are ripe. Pods can be sun dried; fastest way is to cut the pods to 2 pieces, so the moisture from the pod will go away faster.

No need for that. Seeds will dry in the sun as well. When the seeds crack if bended, those are dry enough.
