Hi, i'm very new to this, i have a chili that has been in the same soil since october (just for fun planted it in september) and now the leafs are showing rust like spots and it gets worse and worse. My guess is that it is missing something and that the regular fertilizer isnt good enough.

Can somebody tell me whats wrong?

thank you in advance
Ed

It looks like sun burn marks. I obtained some as well when I let the plants breathe a bit in the air outside. It is spring time and sun
is getting stronger ( on the northern hemisphere at least). You need to let them adjust to the sun a bit. It can be done in a lot of ways.
One is to have them out during late afternoon or when it is cloud etc. Nothing dangerous to my mind. Good thing is to change the soil of course. It can also be you have used too much nutritients so it is salt burns. I would change soil and be more careful about the sun.

thanx for the advice michael :)

I have that same "rust" also. If the plants don't mind, I don't mind.

Instead of burn marks I´d be guessing too much watering. Change it to a bigger pot and let it dry up properly before giving more water. Burn marks are usually closer to white or beige color.

I had similar marks on my Turbo Pube leaves and ought some bug had caused em, but later I also draw uneducated conclusion that maybe the cause was overwatering.

thank you for your replies. A little update might be in order.

At the end of may i put this plant in our garden. I gave it a nice central place and err that wasnt very smart. After 3 days all its leafs were gone (wind). Like i said, i am new to this and i learned something here ;)

Anyway, cut it way back, moved it near a fence nd see what it looks  like now.

i love this chili growing :) i didnt know the plants are this strong, it had no leafs at the end of may, and  look at it now.

Thanx again,
Ed
