Thats looking really cool :D

Is it possible to fuse multiple different varieties? Would you end up with multiple kinds of pods? I'm thinking of starting a fused-stem bonchi project for my desk at work.

lee

Yeah, it's possible Checkout Fatalii's Bonchi section

As we had the first serious frost this week (-5) I decided to take CAP1144 inside and turn it into a Bonchi. The plants was still loaded with unripe fruits and amazing to see how well it did at this time of the year.

CAP1144

Will let it grow for a couple of weeks and will start trimming some of those roots.

Fatalii

Ahh looks a great start!

Hope it will survive the cut. Might be a little risky for praes.

Might be good to put a light on the bottom part of the plant to encourage some growth there befor cutting it.

That will be great with roots trimmed and with plenty of leaves.

I'm sure you can already see too how it will look later! :)

The next one to germinate will probably be Duke pequin; mine germinated in 4 days. Any previous experience on CAP 1491? Seems a mystery species. And hardy too according to Fatalii´s comments. You really have an impressive list of thew wild ones.
Here´s my Haeart throb from last season. Now I´ve cut it to make it as a bonchi but forgot to take pics. Very vital.

lee

I just checked and guess wich var. is sprouting...
