Hi dudes!

I haven't been participating in Inferno that much lately, mostly because of lack of time... :(

But hopefully I'll be able to show up more often from now on.

The new season is starting and I was just selecting some varieties to grow... Any suggestions, anyone? ;)

Cheers!

Hi Fata!

The link to the image you posted above is broken.  I'm getting a "401 Forbidden" error when trying to access it.  Check the file permissions! ;)

Show us your garden! / kilpikon3's chile season 2008.

To my experience, baccatums root really easily.  As I mentioned, I've done it quite a few times before, when the plant snap in the middle.  I've never used clonex in them, but they grew roots very easily, just sitting in a cup with water.

Lainaus käyttäjältä: "kilpikon3"Actually I had an accident with the tallest plant; as I started lifting it from the ebb it hit the lamp above and snapped into half !   Well, we wish a quick recovery on that one!

Hehehe! That's happens very easily, as baccatums grow tall fast and are very fragile in the beginning, with a very soft stem.  But don't worry, your plant will recover.  And even better, if you plant the top part that snapped off, you might even end up with two plants! ;) This happened to me a couple of times 8)

OMG! I already have other plans for the 26.1!

I'll try to change it somehow, because I simply can't miss this one!!!

Unfortunately 18.1 is impossible for me, since I will be travelling.  I could join on 12.1 (tomorrow) or 13.1 (this Sunday), if the others are available...

But don't worry about me.  Make the plans as will suit most and I'll join if possible. ;)

If time allows, I'm in :D

Nice!

Looks very much like a frutescens, but definitely also has some annuum characteristics...

Fatalii, Volitans, no problem! I was also a bit lazy to take out my dictionary and try to understand the discussions :)  And my main goal with that message was to bring the discussion back to English... it worked :D

The original poster looks really nice! Maybe I'd prefer it a bit darker, but it's hard to say how it will look on paper.  Looking forward to the poster's availability, so I can get buy my copy! :D

Traditional growing / Overwintering Experiment
lokakuu 18, 2007, 00:03:29 ap
Very interesting experiment, John! I'm looking forward to seeing your results.  This would definitely help me (and many others) as well, since here my space for overwintering plants is very limited too.

I also think it was really interesting that the lance started producing new shoots from the roots! I think that's a previously unseen trait in Capsicum. :D

Wild Chiles / C. Flexuosum Pods
lokakuu 15, 2007, 13:34:04 ip
Very nice, Chris!

Really interesting pods, as you said, translucent! I still haven't succeeded in having a flexu of my own, even though they're native in my home state in Brazil (but I don't leave there anymore).

Wild Chiles / White-flowered C. praetermissum
lokakuu 15, 2007, 10:01:11 ap
I'm not really sure it is a C. praetermissum.  But the region where it was collected from has loads of C. praetermissum growing in the wild.

But it could well be another species, maybe still not described formally?

The growth of this plant looks very much like other C. praetermissum I've seen.  I haven't seen the pods, but they are said to be small and red.  The seeds are light-brown/yellow, like other common species.

Does anyone have another opinion?

Wild Chiles / White-flowered C. praetermissum
lokakuu 13, 2007, 16:19:55 ip
I got this one from a member of the Pimentas forum, from Brazil.  He found it on the wild, growing in some woods.

It seems to be a white-flowered C. praetermissum.

And I have a cutting from tknummelin which has rooted nicely and is already growing its own leaves! it will take time for the first pods though

Very nice looking plant, gine! Same goes to your plant, tknummelin, I've seen it live already :D

Hmmm... I'm not sure I'm going to make it this time

I've been really busy this week, so it might not be possible for me to join you this week at all :(
